Rev. Wesley Warden made his journey to Heaven on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania where he had resided for the last weeks of his pilgrimage. He and his wife were converted in a Free Methodist Church in California, after which they received a call to minister in Latin America. He sold his business and their possessions and by faith, started on a journey that would lead them to minister in Honduras for over thirty years. Arriving in a Catholic village where the Gospel had never reached, they ministered for seven full years with not one convert. Thinking their efforts in vain they prepared to relocate, when God sent a mighty revival to the community. They labored in this village for the remaining years of their ministry. They never desired to be great, but simply to be a tool in the Master’s hands. Beavertown Church was privileged to have Wesley and Barbara Warden as a part of our congregation for the final miles of his journey. Their spirit and testimony will not be forgotten.

Justin Stanton first started attending Beavertown Church as a child. Now as a young man, God has called him to preach and he and his wife will be headed out to their first pastorate at the pioneer work in Danville, Pennsylvania. We are praying that Justin and Melanie will be used of God in a special way. Both of them have studied at Penn View Bible Institute. Terry Henry, a recent convert at our church, just finished a new pulpit for Justin to use at Danville.

Anyone who ever attended many services at Beavertown Church knew the little lady that God would bless. She would stand to testify and when her “cup overflowed” she walked the aisle with a cry of joy on her heart. Gladys Hosier went to Heaven on Saturday, April 13, 2013, with family by her side. She stood by her husband, Rev. Paul Hosier, as he pastored and labored in Michigan, New York and Pennsylvania. As District Superintendent in the Free Methodist Church, Rev. Hosier was instrumental in furthering the cause of holiness. In later years, Rev. Hosier pastored with God’s Missionary Church and pioneered the church in Berwick, Pennsylvania. Upon retirement, they became part of the Beavertown Church where they blessed our church family with their presence. The Hosier’s were dearly loved by their family: two daughters, and three “preacher boys.” Gladys Hosier was an example to all of the Christ centered life. We will miss her shouts of victory, but we know she is rejoicing in Heaven’s fair land. Funeral services were held at her church on Saturday, April 20, 2013 with burial in the church cemetery.
