Days 1 & 2 of Youth Missions Trip
God has really been helping us on the trip so far. He gave us safety and protection as we traveled the 1,530+ miles to Little Eagle, SD and has already answered many prayers.
We arrived at Little Eagle around midnight CST and were warmly greeted by the missionaries Jordan and Kayla Satterfield and their children. We settled in and got a good nights rest.
We began work the next day at 10:00 AM. The young people worked really hard at cleaning up a two acre lot that was overgrown with weeds and has collected a lot of trash over many years. Others worked at breaking up a concrete sidewalk that we will be replacing, scraped and painted two sides of the exterior of the church, framed in the restroom, worked on setting up a permanent volleyball court, canvassed the community inviting people to our special services and helped entertain the children of the community.
At 7:00 PM, we held a gospel service with a good number of people from the community present. The church was full with standing room only. The young people sang specials songs and some shared testimonies. Pastor Matt preached a gospel message, and when theĀ invitation was given a young mother came to the altar and gave her heart to the Lord. It was wonderful to see this young lady pour her heart out to God and find Him to be her personal Savior! Praise the Lord!
After the service, we invited everyone in attendance to the school that we are staying for a time of food and fellowship. The young people played ball with some of the teens and had a great time getting to know the people of Little Eagle. It was a great conclusion to an awesome day!
Thank you so much for your prayers! God is at work and is helping us tremendously! Please keep us in your prayers. Tonight we will start the Youth Camp for the teens. We would also appreciate your prayers for the restroom that we intend to install. Pray that we can locate the sewer and water lines, so we can hook up the plumbing for the new restroom.
